World Thrombosis Day 2026

The “Zakrzepica 2026” (Thrombosis 2026) conference, held on the occasion of World Thrombosis Day, will take place on 10 October 2026 at the Sound Garden Hotel in Warsaw. The event is held under the patronage of the Polish Phlebological Society (PTF). Organiser: Medycyna Praktyczna. The programme comprises four lecture sessions with panel discussions (9:40–17:05). Topics include current standards in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism, a diagnostic algorithm for deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, the role of D-dimer, choosing an anticoagulant (DOAC, LMWH, VKA), treatment of acute pulmonary embolism and catheter-directed therapies, extended treatment after a first VTE episode and VTE recurrence, VTE in cancer patients, factor XI/XIa inhibitors, antiphospholipid syndrome, and complications after pulmonary embolism, including chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. Speakers include Prof. Piotr Pruszczyk, Prof. Anetta Undas, Prof. Jerzy Windyga, Prof. Tomasz Urbanek, Prof. Zbigniew Krasiński and Prof. Piotr Terlecki. The programme is not final and may change. On-site participation is free of charge – registration is required, places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Online participation costs PLN 170 and includes the live stream on 10 October. All participants will have access to the recordings on the conference website for one year after the event.
